Dear Reader,
We are happy to announce that our summer program, Manos Unidas, has been actively running now for three weeks in Northern Virginia and Montgomery County. Our youth have volunteering at organizations such as Kits To Heart, The Salvation Army, and Habitat For Humanity. Not only have they been accumulating Student Service Learning hours to meet graduation requirements, but they are also seeing all the ways that they can be active and give back to their communities!
Last week, students from Northern Virginia helped volunteer at The Salvation Army Sherman Avenue Corps location in Washington D.C, where they transported and prepped bags with fresh produce to donate to families in need.
At our local libraries (like Thomas Jefferson Public Library in West Falls Church), students have created handwritten notes to be distributed among cancer patients and children. Soon, our youth will be designing "Back to School" cards to help volunteer during the Alexandria City Public Schools Backpack & School Supply Drive.

Congratulations to all of our graduating seniors! We're so proud of all of you! We have graduates going to Montgomery College, the University of the District of Columbia, Prince George's Community College, Northern Virginia Community College, and even North Dakota State University! They're studying graphic design, computer science, and biology, or still deciding their area of expertise. Congrats class of 2023! We can't wait to see the positive impact you have on your community.
