This Newsletter's Youth Spotlight shines bright on Ayline, an alumna of our Northwood High School program in Montgomery County, MD.
Kudos to Ayline for getting aNew Futures Scholarship for $7,800!Ayline is going to Montgomery College to get her degree in Criminal Justice.
This is what she had to say:
"Being part of LP allowed me to be around non-Spanish speakers, helping me lose my fear of speaking English. Getting to meet a mix of professionals, many of who were immigrants like me, helped motivate me. LP also taught me a lot in life as a person that I must fight for my goals, that nothing is impossible, and that we immigrants can also achieve our goals in this country.
My advice to the other alumni is to always have your goals clear, and take the time to think about what you really want for your life. Where do you see yourself in a few years? What does your ideal life really look like? I will not tell you that it will be easy but I’ll tell you that everything is possible. With a lot of effort and dedication incredible things can be achieved, just do not be afraid and always give your best."
